Is There a Fee to Switch to TCAST Long Distance?

There is a one (1) time fee of $5.00 in order to switch to TCAST Residential Long Distance. This simply covers the cost of the transfer from your current carrier.

Can I View and Pay My Bill Online?

Yes! You can pay your bill online using a Visa, MasterCard, Discover or a checking account. You can also view your bills online. Here's the link: Payment Portal

Do I Have To Spend A Minimum Amount Each Month?

TCAST only asks that you spend a minimum of $5.00 per month in usage. If the minimum usage is not met, there's a $5.00 charge.

How Can TCAST Offer Such Great Rates?

TCAST Communications is a facilities-based provider. That means all of our services are provided to you over a network that we built and monitor. We pass these savings on to you, our valued customer.

Why Am I Receiving a Separarte Bill From Companies Like AT&T or Verizon?

Long Distance companies prefer to bill customers directly for their long distance calling, that is why you receive a separate bill.

Can My Long Distance Company Be Changed Without my Permission?

Switching your long-distance company without your approval is called slamming, and it's illegal.

  • Slamming: The illegal practice of changing a consumer's telephone service - local, intralata or long distance service - without permission. Such unauthorized switching violates FCC rules, regardless if the change was intentional or unintentional.
  • Cramming: A practice in which customers are billed for enhanced features such as voice mail, caller-ID and call-waiting that they have not ordered. This Definition is provided so that each user will be able to differentiate slamming vs. cramming. Cramming is NOT to be tracked for purposes of reporting to the FCC.

Can I Keep My Current Phone Number?

Yes, you will keep your same phone number.

How Can I Tell Who My Long Distance Provider Is?

There are several ways to determine who your long distance provider is:

  • Contact a TCAST customer service representative at 1-800-759-8227
  • Call 1-700-555-4141 from the phone line in question. A recorded message will state the name of your carrier.
  • Dial "0" and an operator will assist you.

Is TCAST Providing Service Over Its Network?

TCAST Communications is a facilities-based provider. That means our long distance services are provided over a network that we built and monitor.

Will My House Have To Be Re-Wired?

No. You are simply designating TCAST Communications to provide your long distance phone service.  

Will I Have To Buy A Special Phone For The Service?

No, the phone working with your current service should work with the TCAST long distance service. TCAST utilizes the same type of switching equipment and software as other phone service providers.
